How do we make sure people use Your FLOCK and respond?
How are we different from other employee surveys out there?
Your FLOCK is a team engagement platform, based on individual values and feedback, that gives team leaders the data they need to make better decisions. We are a stand alone plug in and play software as a service that automatically asks your team members each fortnight by email a series of questions.
These questions created by our learning and development team are designed to help elicit a response. Unlike other employee engagement surveys – our platform is more engaged with as. It is based on THEIR values.
- On how they see the world.
- On what makes them tick.
- On our initial assessment of what their core motivations and shared values are.
HOW ELSE DO WE GET RESPONSES.
We know their values. And we email valued directed questions directly to them. And then as a team leader you can see who has replied and who has not. Those that have not responded get a gentle reminder. As does the team leader. And a list each week of who you could check in on.
We see Your FLOCK as a service that helps leaders save time – when they feel they don’t have the time.
But this doesn’t always mean employees will have the time themselves to respond and give employee feedback.
If this happens. In the first instance, don’t worry. It might be just the way it is and how you view things. Remember:
“In general, if you get more than 70% you can consider that your response rate is very good. Anything between 60% and 70% is good. Scores between 50% and 60% are acceptable and are considered industry standard for web-based surveys.
Anything below 50% is poor.
Response rates below 30% should ring alarm bells in your organisation as it simply indicates a complete lack of engagement and trust in your organisation’s internal feedback processes.”
WHAT ARE THE OTHER DIFFERENCES?
We know from companies using Your FLOCK for several years that different sizes of organisation makes a difference too. Not just the size of the team. But the size of the whole company. And also how much the senior management and especially team leaders are brought into the idea.
If employees can see that other people aren’t completing the surveys or giving them feedback on them doing so. This makes a difference too. Luckily Your FLOCK helps team leaders with this too. But in general:
You should aim for a response rate of between 70 to 80 percent if your organisation has fewer than 50 employees, 60 to 70 per cent if your organisation has a few hundred, and 55 to 70 per cent if you employ 1,000 people or more.
You will also see – when using Your FLOCK – that your team engagement score changes with each team. This is also perfectly normal. With teams like marketing and sales completely more feedback than let’s say admin and accounting teams.
However, no matter if you use Your FLOCK to do it or not. No matter what the method, it is important to conduct employee surveys.
Here are a few reasons that you should be doing employee engagement surveys.
- Understand what’s important to your employees (and their values too)
- Give your employees a voice (with their own feedback based on their values)
- Make your employees feel valued. Hence build trust
- Measure their engagement level (which Your FLOCK does and reports back to you.)
- Gives you employee satisfaction/engagement data to track over a period of time
It is the insights from employee surveys and team engagement platforms like Your FLOCK that can help in understanding business areas that need to be focused on. As Forbes reports.
- Highly engaged teams show 21% greater profitability
- Employees who feel their voice is heard are 4.6 times more likely to feel empowered to perform their best work
- 87% of employees expect their employer to support them in balancing work and personal commitments
- 69% of employees say they would work harder if they were better appreciated
And this is what Your FLOCK is all about.
About recognising and appreciating your employees and their contributions.
It is their employee feedback based on their values that gives you / your team leaders the data they need to change.
